Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quantitative Trader to join our client's dynamic trading team. As a Quantitative Trader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing trading strategies using quantitative models and algorithms. You will work closely with other members of the trading team, as well as data scientists and software engineers, to optimise trading performance and generate profitable trading opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quantitative trading strategies using statistical models, mathematical algorithms, and machine learning techniques
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of financial markets, including identifying patterns, trends, and market inefficiencies
  • Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to design, backtest, and optimise trading models and algorithms
  • Monitor and analyse real-time market data and execute trades in a fast-paced trading environment
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance trading strategies based on market conditions and performance metrics
  • Manage risk exposure and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal trading policies
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in quantitative trading techniques and financial markets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science. Master's or Ph.D. degree is a plus
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading concepts, and quantitative trading strategies
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB for data analysis and model development
  • Experience with statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualisation techniques
  • Familiarity with trading platforms, order execution systems, and market data providers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Prior experience in quantitative trading or a related field is desirable but not mandatory
