Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

1. Strategy:

  • Stay informed about the business strategy and model of the organization
  • Understand the strategy of Algorithmic Trading Quants (ATQ) and FX E-Trading

2. Business:

  • Develop automated pricing and trading systems for the FM Electronic Trading Business
  • Keep up to date with any changes within the quant team

3. Processes:

  • Assist in gathering functional and non-functional requirements for automated pricing and trading algorithms, models, and controls
  • Collaborate with colleagues and IT (BA, PM, Dev, QA, and RM) to deliver effective solutions
  • Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement through data mining, and propose enhancements
  • Provide consultation on models and algorithms developed by others in FX E-Trading
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, internal standards, and processes, such as the System Delivery Framework and Technology Delivery Assurance
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures, regularly reviewing them to reflect changes in products, systems, policy, and regulations

  • Drive strategic change and align people programs and organizational structure with supporting change
  • 5. Risk Management:
  • Identify, monitor, control, and mitigate risks associated with the FX E-Trading business
  • Embed operational risk monitoring as an integral part of the business process
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures
  • Understand and manage risks affecting the organization, including financial risks
  • Adhere to guidelines outlined in the annual dealer mandate
  • Collaborate with Compliance Risk Management and Operational Risk Management Assurance teams

6. Governance:

  • Assess the effectiveness of governance, oversight, and controls within the business, and oversee necessary changes
  • Stay aware of the regulatory framework, requirements, and expectations relevant to the role
  • Speak up in case of any breach of group conduct rules or laws by colleagues
  • Cooperate with local regulators in an open and transparent manner

7. Regulatory & Business Conduct:

  • Demonstrate exemplary conduct and abide by the organization's Values and Code of Conduct
  • Take personal responsibility for adhering to applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct
  • Uphold the Bank's Conduct Principles, including Fair Outcomes for Clients, Effective Financial Markets, Financial Crime Compliance, and The Right Environment
  • Identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters
  • Adhere to the code of conduct prescribed by regulators in the UK and Singapore

Key Stakeholders:
- Global Head of Algorithmic Trading Quants
- eTrading Programme Manager

Other Responsibilities:
- Exhibit the organization's brand and values in daily behavior
- Carry out other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business, or Functional policies and procedures

Ideal Candidate:

- Degree in Computer Science or a similar field
- 10+ years of experience in a core Java engineering role, experience in E-Trading is a plus
- Knowledge of software development in high volume, low latency environments
